An Exhibition of Early Chinese Paintings Collected by Mr. A. W. Bahr

About the Exhibition

Mr. Bahr has just returned from China this year after an extended stay there and has scoured the country thoroughly in seeking for these treasures which will be shown for the first time at The Arts Club of Chicago. He has devoted over twenty years to the study of this particular branch of art during his long residence in China. Mr. Bahr speaks the Chinese language fluently, and has been in close contact with native collectors over all these years. He has obtained pictures for the British Museum, Victorian-Albert Museum [sic], as well as American Museums, including the Charles L. Freer and many private collections. The best and most representative examples will be shown in The Arts Club, and the artistic sense will be revealed with intelligent consistency.
