Chicago Mobile Makers on Design for Community Wellbeing

Listen

About the Program

With a goal to train and support future public interest architects, designers, and makers, Chicago Mobile Makers (CMM) leads Garfield Park–area teens through an exploration of community-led planning and design projects through their six-month Youth Design Leadership for Community Safety (YDL) program, in collaboration with the Goldin Institute. Focused on creating safe spaces, promoting community wellbeing, and increasing access to opportunity, youth participants are collaboratively designing a 3D art piece that will be fabricated and installed in the Garfield Park neighborhood. Join us for a presentation and interactive conversation about the project.

Following the program, participants are invited to stay for coffee and pastries and explore Chicago Mobile Makers’ Arts Club Garden Project Shape Makers.
