Exhibition of Black and White by Contemporary Italian Artists
About the Exhibition
The exhibition of original drawings, etchings, engravings, silverpoints, and woodcuts assembled by the Italian Department of Fine Arts, under the personal supervision of Gr. Uff. Arduino Calsanti has the purpose of presenting to the American public the work of contemporary Italian artists who have attained distinction in a field of artistic endeavor in which Italy has old and glorious traditions. It is the first exhibition of its kind to have been sent to America from Italy, and the most complete ever assembled by the Italian Government. All of the thirty-eight artists represented are living, and among them are names known in the fields of sculpture, painting, and architecture.
Three of the exhibitors reside in New York. The American presentation of the collection has been entrusted to the Italy America Society under whose auspices the exhibition will visit the principal cities in the United States.
